Towards Positive Change in Papua

Tambrauw Regency in Southwest Papua is one of Indonesia’s most intact forest landscapes, home to rich biodiversity including birds-of-paradise and Indigenous communities who depend on the forest. A baseline survey by Alam Sehat Lestari Foundation (ASRI) found many households earn around IDR 1.7 million per month with limited access to healthcare. Since 2024, ASRI has begun replicating its Planetary Health approach by integrating healthcare, forest conservation, and sustainable livelihoods to protect forests while improving community well-being.
